Abstract:In the last years debates about the identity feelings of the Spanish people towards their respective regions have been reactivated. In Andalusia several studies concerning the existence of an identity consciousness in the population have been carried out showing the prevalence of a 'dual identity' -ambivalence between being Andalusian and Spanish. In this work we analyze the data of the last two Tests on Social Reality in Andalusia (TSRA 2011 and 2013) in order to evaluate the evolution of the "contrast identity between Andalusia and Spain" and in order to consider any changes it may show. In addition we perform a comparison by gender of the identity feeling and a study of the possible influences in the results of several socio-economic variables using statistical techniques. On one hand, the results of both surveys (TSRA 2011 and 2013) are compared and related to those of other similar studies. On the other hand, the analysis focuses on the data for the TSRA-2013, with which different statistical analyses were performed -Normality test of Kolmogorov-Smirnov, independence test Chi-squared, Kruskal-Wallis test-. The results indicate that we can continue saying that prevails 'dual identity' between the Andalusian. In the evolution between 2011 and 2013 we can say that extreme positions are softened and increases the weight of those who equate their Andalusian and Spanish feelings. Regarding the influence of socio-economic variables on the sense of identity, we have obtained that sex of individuals is decisive, while age does not determine the identity positioning. The educational level affects men but not women, social status affects both sexes while the place of residence neither of them.
