LOS PATRONES SOCIALES EN LA TENENCIA DE PERROS EN ANDALUCIA

Resumen:

En las últimas décadas, los perros han adquirido un papel central en los hogares occidentales, reforzando vínculos afectivos y generando un creciente interés social y legislativo por su presencia en espacios públicos. En Andalucía, este incremento se observa en el volumen de registros del RAIA, en un contexto de descenso de la natalidad, envejecimiento poblacional y aumento de hogares unipersonales. El estudio analiza los patrones de tenencia canina considerando tendencias temporales, tipología municipal y sexo del propietario. Se plantean tres hipótesis relacionadas con la estacionalidad del registro, la influencia del entorno urbano-rural y las diferencias según el sexo del propietario.

Abstract:

In recent decades, dogs have assumed a central role in Western households, strengthening emotional bonds and generating growing social and legislative interest in their presence in public spaces. In Andalusia, this increase is reflected in the number of registrations in the RAIA, within a context of declining birth rates, population ageing, and a rise in single-person households. The study analyses patterns of dog ownership considering temporal trends, municipal typology, and the owner’s sex. Three hypotheses are proposed regarding the seasonality of registrations, the influence of the urban–rural environment, and differences associated with the owner’s sex.
